If It’s This Good, Why Haven’t I Heard of Mangosteen Before?

by jwmcgregor on June 29, 2010

There is a pretty good chance you probably hadn’t heard much
about the mangosteen fruit prior to receiving these e-mails.
It is interesting that something this phenomenal, with so many
health benefits, has remained virtually unknown.

Even though a large part of the world hasn’t heard about it yet,
the mangosteen has been utilized as a food and also as a
medicine in Southeast Asia and China for centuries. It has been
transplanted and put into Central and South America, India and
the Caribbean where it has also been used as a food and as
medicine.

As a result, the mangosteen has an enormous folk medicine
repertoire. It’s been used to treat diabetes, diarrhea,
inflammation, eczema, urinary disorders, fever, and menstrual
problems, just to name a few.
